Poundbury is a unique place and is home to unique and interesting businesses, shops and cafes. So, we hooked up with the fantastic Poundbury Business Friends and set about planning a website that would showcase all that’s brilliant about this vibrant and quirky place.
The businesses needed a site that engaged users through strong design and fantastic photography; they really wanted to show off what they do. We developed a site that has immediate visual impact and strong photography aligned with a directory that is easy to search and is linked to a bespoke Google map of Poundbury with our distinctive pins showing users where the businesses are located.
We designed and developed home pages for business like Cherryade, Yard and The Poundbury Florist. We handled all of the photography in house, ensuring that the images were just right for the site. We also developed enhanced listings and pages for our sponsors, Morrish Builders and CG Fry.
We also wanted to pull social into the site so that it becomes owned by the people who have business here and by the visitors who explore Poundbury. We’ve integrated their Instagram feed, managed by Stonecoast, into the site to provide and every changing and current view of what’s going on.
The site’s coming to the end of it’s second year, has hosted 10s of thousands of great visits and engagement and is growing all the time. The well kept secret is no more!
